Day by day itinerary
Day 01: Arrival at San Jose, Costa Rica. Welcome to Costa Rica. Arrive at Juan Santamaria International Airport. After passing through Immigration you will be met by one of our representatives. He will take you to your hotel and give you your welcome kit. The Sleep Inn Hotel, San Jose Downtown is conveniently located in the heart of the city, only 15 kms from the Santamaria international Airport. It is only a short distance away from tourist attractions like the teatro Nacional, Museo de Jade, Museo de Oro, and parks that are part of our national heritage, among many others.
Day 02: Transfer to Tortuguero National Park. Pachira Lodge. Standard Room.
Leave your hotel in the morning. Admire the biodiversity of an astonishing protected area in Costa Rica as we drive by Braulio Carrillo National Park, a primary forest in 95% of its extension. Have a taste of our delicious Costa Rican breakfast en route. Be our special guest in a banana processing and packaging plant and learn more about one of Costa Rica's prime products (subject to availability). Board a comfortable boat upon arrival to the port and let this extraordinarily exotic paradise enchant you, as you travel along the Tortuguero Canals. Have a one-in-a-lifetime experience in this unique place surrounded by a great variety of flora and fauna of breathtaking beauty. Enjoy a refreshing cocktail and a delicious Lunch as we welcome you to PACHIRA LODGE. After lunch, we will visit the museum, the beach area an the small and picturesque town of Tortuguero. A delightful dinner will be served upon arrival to the lodge Pachira Lodge The lodge is strategically located only 5 minutes away from the extraordinary Tortuguero National Park, and right across the main "canal" facing the town of Tortuguero. Surrounded by a network of very scenic canals, this is considered one of the most exotic regions of the world, characterized by its rich in flora and fauna.
Day 03 Tortuguero National Park. Pachira Lodge.
OPTIONAL MORNING TOUR: Enjoy nature its best as you undertake a journey through the canals at dawn, and take your best short of a real Caribbean sunrise. Discover Costa Rican flavors as you enjoy breakfast at PACHIRA LODGE. Get ready to hike Tortuguero Hill or travel along the well known Tortuguero Canals and have the experience of your life in this unique paradise of magnificent flora and fauna. Enjoy a delicious lunch at the lodge. Take your time to enjoy our private trails, ride a boat through the canals or just relax.
OPTIONAL NIGHT TOUR: Walk on the beach and admire the green turtles nesting (July through September).
Day 04: La Fortuna, Arenal Volcano Area. Pick Up Rental Car.Hotel Arenal Springs.Leave the hotel in the morning right after breakfast. Boat and Bus transfer to Siquirres. Lunch will be served in a typical restaurant. 12:45 p.m. pick up your rental car and self drive to Arenal. Arenal volcano is the most active volcano in Costa Rica and with some luck you observe the red lava. Best spot to enjoy these wonders are Tabacon or Baldi Hot Springs (not included), a veritable thermal wonderland, where a hot volcanic stream is channeled in five pools  of varying temperature.

Day 05: Day at leisure by the volcano. Hotel Arenal Springs.

Day 06: Self drive to Peñas Blancas (Nicaragua-Costa Rica Border) Drop Off Car at Costa Rican Side. Pick Up car at Nicaraguan side. Self drive to Granada. Hotel Alhambra.
As all colonial cities in Central America, Granada is built around its main square (Parque Central) that represents the city's social, cultural, and economic hub. Around the Parque Central visitors find Granada's cathedral, the city hall, important banks, cultural centers, as well as a myriad of small shops and stalls selling traditional food and handcrafts. Alhambra Hotel, in a colonial ambiance where you can find tropical gardens and human warmth. Day 07: Full day at Granada. Hotel Alhambra.
Day 08: Self drive to Leon. Hotel La Posada del Doctor.  Drive to Leon. León is a department that has a lot to offer. In addition to the colonial city of León, you can also find many small, picturesque towns that border the Pacific Ocean, great for sun and beach activities, a range of volcanoes offering a variety of possible activities, ruins from the past, among other attractions. The city of León is located about 100 km from Managua and can be easily reached by the new highway. La Posada del Doctor is a nice colonial house, recently renovated, close to the center of León. It has a familiar and friendly atmosphere. It offers comfortable rooms with air conditioning, decorated with national arts and crafts.
Day 09: Free day at Leon. Hotel La Posada del Doctor.
Day 10: Self drive back to Peñas Blancas Border. Drop Off Car at Nicaragua side. After clearing customs, pick up car at Costa Rican Side. Self drive to Tamarindo Beach. Day 13: Self drive to San José. Hotel El Rodeo Country Inn

Day 14: Transfer from hotel to International Airport. Flight back home.
